Cap Fees
Adult (over 21 years) cap fees are $100 for weekends and holidays and $80 for weekdays. Juniors are $30. Checks should be made payable to The Fairfax Hunt and given to the Honorary Secretary or one of the Masters upon arriving at the meet.
Guests may cap 4 times during the current season.
Liability Releases
All persons hunting with The Fairfax Hunt must sign a liability release form. This protects the hunt and landowners against claims. Please download, read, complete, and sign the liability release and bring it with you to the hunt. Please give it to the Honorary Secretary or one of the Masters.

Etiquette & Protocol
Riders who use good common sense, courtesy, and polite behavior usually never go wrong. Primary consideration is always given to hounds, staff, landowners, fellow riders, and your horse.
A current negative Coggins is required for your horse.
For more detailed information, see our Etiquette/Turnout Policy.
Our Territory
Our country is partly in eastern Loudoun County and partly in western Loudoun County. It generally consists of wooded and open cattle and crop farms with jumps that are post and rail, chicken coops, and stone walls of typical size. The eastern Loudoun section is fairly flat terrain while the western Loudoun Country is more rolling hills.
Click on the Directions for a list of our fixtures and locations.
The Hunting Season
We hunt from mid September through the end of March; primarily on Saturdays and Wednesdays with occasional Bye Days. When the spring race season starts in February, we change to hunting to Sundays.
The Hunt Day
The hunt will move off promptly at the appointed hour, so make sure to arrive at the meet with plenty of time to prepare yourself and your horse. Upon arrival, introduce yourself to the Masters and the Honorary Secretary; and give them your cap fee and liability release.
In case of inclement weather or questionable ground conditions, make sure to check our monitor (703-957-4633). Changes or cancellations will be made no later than 3 hours before a meet.
Membership
Those wishing to apply for membership with The Fairfax Hunt must complete a membership application. The applicant must cap with us 2 or 3 times so the masters may become acquainted with them. If the applicant is accepted for membership, the cap fees are applied toward their dues. The applicant must be sponsored by 2 members. More detailed information and instructions are on page 2 of the application.
